An Adoptee Anthology

A Collection of Adoptee-related Resources I wish I had when I was younger

One Child Nation

One Child Nation is an independent documentary film about the one-child policy and its effects on various groups in China from women, adoptees, party members, and more.

This film is very shocking and graphic for multiple reasons. The film does not censor anything from graphic scenes to langauge and emotion. The film also reveals a dark side to the policy in terms of the baby trafficking boom and falsifying information about orphans. The film also features Brian Stuy from reaseach-china.

The documentary overall is excellent and is a great watch. However, it is one of the more graphic and potentially triggering movie I've seen. Be prepared to watch this film and have a support system ready in case there are triggering scenes. I would adheed to the R-18 viewing suggesting. With teenagers, I would wait until they are older around high school age, and then watch the film with a support system nearby. However, I believe older teenages can watch the film.
